As a Lead Engineer, you will be owning and building our microservices, APIs, data layers, mobile apps, and dashboards on the SaaS platform.

Permanent, Full-time, Germany (remote), Salary: €75k - €85k + VSOP
Your tasks
- You work together with CTO to define the technology strategy
- You take responsibility for the entire development cycle - from architecture to implementation, automated testing, performance testing, deployment and maintenance.
- You implement and optimize backend services, features, algorithms and APIs.
- You’ll work closely with mobile & web engineers.
- You optimize solutions to achieve required usability, performance, stability and scalability.
- You'll work with PMs and other engineers to define, design, and develop our SaaS platform.
- You will guide and advise junior colleagues on software quality, best practices and design patterns.
- You participate in Checktur.io's ideation and innovation process to identify the next breakthrough developments.
- You promote our engineering culture by constantly updating your knowledge and adapting new technologies.
- Bachelor or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- You have a track record of writing great code that is performant, scalable, and maintainable.
- You have a 7+ years of professional experience in Java development.
- You are an excellent senior programmer in Java, and additional experience in Python or Kotlin are a plus.
- You have professional experience with backend frameworks such as Spring or similar.
- You are adept at designing, implementing and maintaining scalable and flexible data storage strategies and have previous experience with some leading SQL and NoSQL solutions.
- You understand algorithms and their complexity.
- You know coding conventions, best practice and design patterns.
- You have implemented microservices architecture and RESTful APIs.
- You are familiar with cloud computing platforms such as Google Cloud Platform or AWS, and building apps with docker containers.
- You have experience with automated deployment and monitoring through CI/CD pipeline.
- You have practiced agile development methodologies.
- Knowledge of design-thinking methods is a plus.
- Experience with mobile or web development are a plus.
- Experience with machine learning is a plus.
