Job Description
Job Purpose:
- Provide reasonable assurance regarding the achievement of objectives, compliance with regulations, policies, procedures, and reliable financial reporting.
- Review and validate the processing and settlement of Treasury and Capital Markets, Corporate Banking, and Investment transactions and deal settlements to ensure accurate execution that is compliant to the relevant operating policies, procedures, and processes.
- Responsible of preparing/ reviewing Nostro Reconciliations and reviewing of internal accounts reconciliations as well as the associated follow-ups.
- Responsible of updating the Internal Control Framework and adherence to it.
- Custodian of the Operations Policies and Procedures.
- Focal point for IT System developments and enhancements, including automation requests.
Key Accountabilities:
- Participate in the development and implementation of actionable objectives, planning processes, budgets and operational KPIs for the Department.
- Assist in the management of the Department’s on-going performance and quality of its output and services as well as identify and initiate proposals/actions for further improvements and innovations.
- Contribute to the Information Technology (e.g., T24) enhancements as they relate to Operations.
- Contribute to innovation and the institutionalization of new initiatives in the Department.
- Daily review of Treasury Operations activities to ensure accuracy and compliance with the related Policies and Procedures.
- Daily review of Corporate Banking Operations activities to ensure accuracy and compliance with the related Policies and Procedures.
- Daily review of Investments Operations activities to ensure accuracy and compliance with the related Policies and Procedures.
- Overview transactions and ensure necessary compliance with procedures to minimize operational risks and to ensure timely execution
- Preparation/ review of daily Nostro reconciliation and sharing it with APICORP stakeholders as well as follow-up on long outstanding items and escalation whenever required.
- Reviewing of internal account reconciliation on a monthly basis as well as follow-up on long outstanding items related to Internal accounts and escalation whenever required.
- Lead the system development and enhancements, including any associated UATs, for operations activities.
- Review BRDs and Jira Tickets, and any associated UATs, to ensure operational efficiency and the availability of strong system controls.
- Review users’ system profiles on regular intervals.
- Support the formulation of policies and procedures for Operations Department.
- Review existing policies and procedures and recommend changes to benchmark them with international practices and standards.
- Ensure strict compliance of policies and procedures with all Operations activities.
- Coordinate with the stakeholders for any new regulations that impact the daily work for compliance purposes.
- Custodian of the Operations Policies and Procedures, to ensure that all P&Ps are valid and up to date.
- Ensure availability and adherence to a robust Internal Control Framework.
- Performing of spot review on operational activities as per the annual plan and ad-hoc requests.
- Performing of Control Self- Assessment to ensure proactive approach for identifying anomalies.
- Lead the generation & reviewing of exceptional reports that relate to the Operations Department.
- Daily review of Nostro cash position exception report
- Maintain productive and effective working relationship within APICORP and with external banks/partners.
- Any other assignment assigned by the Director of Operations.
- Any Investigation assigned by the Director of Operations.

Academic Qualifications and Background
Bachelor's degree in Accounting/ Finance/ Economics/ Business Administration or related discipline
Master’s degree Accounting/ Finance/ Economics/ Business Administration or related discipline
Languages
Fluent in oral and written English language
Fluent/Proficient in oral and written Arabic would be added advantage
Work Experience
7+ years in back office operations in the banking sector Experience in IT systems.
Experience in international accounting standards. 2+ years of managerial/ supervisory experience
