Responsibilities:
- Checks each load of steel as it arrives against Bill of Lading, stamps and signs Bill of Lading
- Directs trucks to proper unloading area
- Unloads and loads material from and to trucks and trailers
- Locates and assembles material from warehouse storage to fill requirements of sales orders
- Notifies management when orders cannot be filled from stock.
- Clears the stands (ie. moves material from the Side Loader Operators)
- Operates tow motor to move material throughout the plant as required
- Updates location of materials
- Assists with various other duties as directed by Plant Supervisor
- Helps to maintain safety and good housekeeping in work areas
- Writes up and completes various forms and reports.
- Places protective materials as needed to ensure travel and handling shipments without damage.
- Notes and reports defects in material, tools to management.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a Production/Warehouse environment
- Commitment to Continuous Improvement and Safety
- Interest and ability to advance and take on increase responsibilities
