Summary:

The role is part of Baxter’s Global Category Management Organization and reports to the Associate Director, Purchasing. In this position you will lead the execution of Procurement VIP (Value Improvement Project) projects by coordinating resources from Category, Engineering, R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, RA etc. and manage the project timeline and resources to achieve business goals.

What will you be doing?

  • Managing end to end VIP (Value Improvement Project) project of processes and improvements.

  • Coordinating the formal evaluation of VIP ideas from Physical, Chemical, Functional, Sterilization, Biochemical and Regulatory perspective etc.

  • Acting as a project manager to coordinate suppliers, manufacturing, engineering, PDO, R&D, QA and RA etc. to ensure the projects can be delivered on time and on target.

  • Making buying decisions from various suppliers.

  • Investigating and reviewing all material quality complaints and problems, both internal and external, and forwarding correspondence to appropriate personnel.

  • Initiating projects that eliminate non-value-added activities, increase quality and service, and reduce costs. Closely monitoring commodity market trends and taking advantage of cost reduction, quality improvement and service improvement opportunities.

  • Supporting manager in the development and execution of annual saving plans.

  • Demonstrating knowledge of purchasing and associated materials management systems.

  • Developing skills and obtaining knowledge in project management, purchasing related materials management systems, negotiation, and contract terms and conditions.

Who are we looking for?

  • Expert with at least a Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience in Procurement/Purchasing and Supply Chain Management, ideally in the pharmaceutical and/or Medical device manufacturing environment.

  • Fluent English speaker (French language would be a huge asset).

  • Strong project manager with planning and organizational skills having hands-on experience implementing Lean Thinking, Lean Tools and Kaizen events to drive Lean improvements in the execution phase.

  • Team player experienced in effective root cause problem solving able to quickly gain credibility and gain traction with both stakeholders and suppliers.

  • Individual with influencing, consultative and initiative capability, negotiation, conflict resolution, presentation skills, facilitation, leadership and effective communication skills,

  • The person with strong personal accountability for results and integrity, eagerness to learn and continuously improve. Uncompromising dedication to quality, relentless focus on rapid and disciplined action, and respect for the diverse contributions of all.
