I am an independent clinical case manager working with clients undergoing neurological rehabilitation in the community following traumatic injury.

I am looking to add to my small administrative team; this is a secretarial/ proofreading/administrative role working 20 hours per week as a self-employed contractor.

As the work is largely remote, the successful candidate will need to be able to work independently and prove themselves to be dependable, reliable, trustworthy and proactive. Accuracy, a good eye for detail and proactively flagging up any outstanding issues are essential skills, as is the ability to communicate clearly with myself and the other team members.

The position requires knowledge of MS Excel and Word to a highly proficient level. Online databases are also used, and the ability to follow instructions on some repetitive tasks for managing data is essential. Certain tasks will be unique and specifically tailored to a client's needs. The role is complex, as it requires working with medical and rehabilitation matters in a legal context.

Experience in the medical/health industry is preferred, with a knowledge base which includes (but is not limited to) an excellent command of English (UK) language (including spelling and grammar), medical and legal jargon, neurological injuries and rehabilitation in adults, clinical case management, working with care packages, CQC registration, awareness of safeguarding and risk assessment, the Mental Capacity Act, GDPR legislation, personal injury legal experience.

Duties to include, but not be limited to:

· Review of medical documentation and rehabilitation reports

· Management of emails in an open medical legal claim context

· Audiotyping short and long documents

· Proofreading/quality assurance of typed documents up to 100 pages, including information on costs and quotes

· Invoice management, tracking costs and managing budgets

· Working with care packages within the context of CQC regulations

Essential Skill Set:

· Two or more years’ secretarial experience

· Two or more years’ proofreading/copy editing experience (or qualifications)

· Multiple job references

· Experience working in a medical/rehabilitation context

· Experience working in a legal environment

· Will require full and current DBS certificate

· Registration with the ICO

· Software/equipment for audiotyping

· UK resident

Desired Skill Set:

· Copyediting and proofreading skills/qualifications

· Understanding of CQC registration.

· Residing in/around Kingston-upon-Thames, as the role includes both home-based and office-based work.

Process:

Initial interview via video conferencing; shortlisted candidates will then attend a further interview in person.
